S15 - Canucks Move Jonsson [WB4]

2020-05-22

If you clicked on this article hoping that there would be more cheap shots based on the picture I chose, you will be pleasantly disappointed. I’m not one to ….

There is a buzz around the league as there are whispers of an expansion to Nashville in the VHL, but commissioner Baker has informed me that is not the case and as such, the only predators the VHL will have for the foreseeable future are the Schroor Brothers.

Hi, I'm GM McGowan, and you may remember me from reporting other mostly ignored league controversies as: Catfishing the league as Shaun White only to trade the best defender in the league to the commissioner, and; ripping off the new Saskatoon GM before he even knew where Saskatoon was on a map.

But enough about Mr. Cosby, lets talk about Milestones so we can get some of the sweet, sweet AP.

GM McGowan recently recorded his 500th VHL regular season win, which trails only GM funk and the Hartford Whalers, if I hadn’t of lost 13 games to Shaun Tracey I could be in first place. Ironically, those were the only 13 Games older Schroor won that season while playing Mr. Dressup. An incredible 13 wins in 82 games may go down as the best non-Ryan Kane upside down seasons on record.

Steve Yzerman recently recorded regular season point number 1500 which is a tremendous achievement for the VHL HOF hopeful. It will be tough to rally the other GMs for votes, but given that he has won a Conn Smythe with 3 separate teams (also a record) its hopeful that he will get enough votes to shake off the predictable no votes from the “Stay away from my kids, TV dad” crew mentioned above. Steve now sits only 34 assists away from 900 on his career, and he is as Schroor to hit that milestone as you are to see Matthew offering pudding pops to stumbling cougars in Poison T-shirts outside of Excuses night club at 2 AM on a Friday night.

Is it 300 or 350 words we need for these?

In any event, I’m sure there’s one other potential Milestone I can talk about.

As much as I want Steve Yzerman to be the face of the Penguins, it surprised even I that Rob Blake leads the team in career games played. Rob currently sits at 853 GP and should make it to the 900 mark so long as we don’t have to play Nathan and Ray “Vezina/Hart/Calder/Shutout” Emery again this season. Rob has suffered 10 injuries as a member of the Penguins, all of them have come at the hands of Nathan’s Unstoppable Ranger Squad. Much to Mario’s delight, these usually happen the week before playoffs so that he can laugh as I too have nothing to look forward to during the playoffs.
