Tampa Bay - After 48 hours since the VHL entry draft where the organisation had the luxury of having the 1st overall pick, it is time for reflexion and dreams of the futur. The draft had a really good flow again thanks to each GM and specialy our Guru Chris. Tampa's team had a real easy choice in picking the next amazing sniper that will play in a couple of years with the big club at the first pick. Kovalchuk was interviewed after putting the bolt's cap and jersey and had a few words for the journalist : ''Благодаря организации Tampa Bay за оказанное мне доверие, я не могу дождаться, чтобы доказать им, что они сделали правильный выбор, а также попробовать молодых женщин Флориды.''

Ouellet's team had 4 other selections in the draft, but he made 2 trades that left him with just two chances to select after that. First and foremost he had a long conversation with GM Shirley who was lookin' for a center to patrol the second line and Ouellet saw an occasion to cash in on Reichel and pick up some good youngster depth in his team.  Reichel was sent with a 3rd rounder in this draft and Daymond Langkow, Alexandre ''douche'' Daigle, a 2th, 5th round in the next year draft came back to the sunshine state. Ouellet spoke with his friend Matthew Barnaby ,who played in Quebec City with the Harfang in the Q with Eric Daze, where Ouellet was an assistant coach years ago, about Daigle who was a teammate of Barnaby in Victoriaville. He did not have kind words for his old mate, called him one of the biggest douche he knowned and was not known for putting the best effort on the ice. He also said that Daigle was one of the fastest guys he seen wearings skates and could change a game with a few strides. Langkow and Daigle will play on the second line with Ryan Smyth and could be a good one two punch with the first line of Handzus Zetterberg and Erik Cole.

A lot of teams made some offers for the pick 37 but Ouellet chose to keep it and select the young defenseman from Villingen-Schwenningen Germany, Dennis Seidenberg, who will florish qith the young defensive squad that Tampa already have. The GM made a trade with his 47th pick to Vancouver for two second rounders in the next yeard draft ( NYR-VAN) and made his last selection of the draft with the 52nd pick in the rookie goaltender Micheal Garnett. the young goaltender has the starting nod in the rebel junior team that includes Jason Spezza, Ryan Clowe, Matt Stajan, Deryk Engelland that should accumulate a few victories next season.

A few young guys are making their entrance in the big club this year : Henrik Zetterberg, Erik Cole, Ryan ''Bugsy'' Malone, Matt Cullen and Robyn Regehr. Big Z and Regehr are going straight to the bigs without a first stint in the AHL, Ouellet thinks they will be well surrounded and will make a direct impact this year. Both of them will have top pairing minutes on their respective first line. Regehr wil play with the veteran Richardson on the first DPair and Zetterberg will be on the 1st line with Michal Handzus and will therefore have all the chances to prove their worth.

Now Ouellet turns his attention on the free agent signing, where we can find a lot of good value and talent. He stills wonder if he will join KC Cowboy GM in the pursuit of Bobby Holik.. He will certainly put a lot of offers on the table for the young players and fresh college recruits. Let see what the futur holds us and what players will want to sign with lower level teams like the Lightning....
